Privacy and account control

Delete your ShelfCoach account and associated data

ShelfCoach is operated by DecisionLayer Systems LLC. This page explains how to delete an account from the app or request deletion when you cannot access the app.

Never send your password, authentication code, payment-card details, or sensitive health information in a deletion request.

Delete directly in the ShelfCoach app

  1. Sign in to the ShelfCoach account you want to delete.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Delete Account & Data in the Danger Zone.
  4. Complete the requested identity verification.
  5. Confirm the permanent deletion request.

The in-app process removes the account and clears ShelfCoach data stored locally by the app on that device.

Request deletion without the app

Send the request from the email address associated with your ShelfCoach account. Use the subject ShelfCoach Account Deletion Request and include only the account email address and a clear request to delete the account.

Email a deletion request

Requests are identity-verified before processing. We generally complete verified requests within 30 days. We may ask for limited additional information solely to confirm account ownership.

Data included in an account-deletion request

  • Account authentication records and account identifiers.
  • Primary and household profiles, including names and profile settings.
  • Dietary restrictions, allergies, health goals, and preference data.
  • User-linked scan history, usage records, saved groups, invite codes, shopping data, favorites, and journal data maintained for the ShelfCoach service.
  • Other ShelfCoach service records tied to the verified account, where deletion is supported and not legally restricted.

A request made through this page removes server-side account data. It cannot remotely erase copies still stored on a device that is offline or no longer connected. Clear the app's storage or uninstall ShelfCoach to remove remaining device-local copies.

Information that may be retained

Limited records may be retained when required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, chargeback, or dispute-resolution obligations. App stores and payment processors may also retain purchase and transaction records under their own policies. De-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify an account may also be retained.

Any retained information is restricted to the applicable purpose and kept only for the period required by law, platform policy, or the relevant security or dispute-resolution need.

Subscriptions must be cancelled separately

Deleting a ShelfCoach account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play or Apple App Store subscription.

Cancel the subscription through the store account that made the purchase to prevent future renewal charges. Deleting the ShelfCoach account ends access to account-based Pro features, but store billing may continue until the subscription is separately cancelled.
